Essential Job Functions

  • Provide log interpretations for end users. Able to work independently and provide written technical reports and analysis in English.  Provide Cased Hole Log analysis & interpretation to internal & external clients. 

  • Must be a cased-hole specialist.

  • Provide analysis and interpretation of cased hole well log data.

  • Lead and participate in new drilling and rework of wells to increase production.

  • Work in conjunction with geologists, reservoir engineers and production engineers.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input and analysis of cased hole logs.

  • Recommend locations to drill wells.

  • Determine survey objectives.

  • Process data of all downhole processes.

  • Write data processing, modeling and interpretation reports.

  • Responsible for data gathering and data analyzing.

  • Provide efficient reports and analysis summaries.

  • Maintain strong business relationships with internal and external clients.

  • Assist the Business Development, R&D, and Operations teams.

  • Support client expectations and determine methods of delivery.

  • Ensure data is accurate at all times.

  • Responsible for file management of current logging methods.

  • Responsible for research well history, quality control log data and load data files for well log editing.

  • Perform extensive log analysis by recognizing and fixing errors in the log images, recognizing and fixing casing effects, and performing analysis on multiple projects.

  • Work on well site

  • Assist with technical instruction and technical support in maintenance and troubleshooting

  • Available to perform duties on short notice, day or night and/or on weekends

  • Maintain knowledge of the latest technological changes and operating procedures of company equipment, tools, and practices

  • Works with the Quality Compliance department regarding compliance issues.

  • Continuously fully comply with all regulatory related requirements.

  • Work safely at all times.

  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards.

Skills and Experiences

  • Previously cased hole wireline log analysis experience is required, ideally for corrosion evaluation services, with previous field data acquisition experience desirable.

  • Well-versed in well-logging data editing and interpretation.

  • Strong geological analytical skills.

  • Ability to meet the highest attendance requirements.

  • Knowledge and ability to use various software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, at proficient levels.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Geology, Geophysics, Engineering or related field.

  • Requires 2 years of analytical and interpretative skills and expertise in production logging, well integrity, wireline simulation, well intervention design, planning and operations.

  • Requires 2 years of extensive analytical experience.

  • 2 years experience in cased hole log interpretation multi caliper and production logs.

  • Requires 2 years of experience in MWD/LWD and Well Control.

  • Requires 2 years of experience in well-logging data processing.

Physical Demands

  • Could involve some lifting, up to 20 lbs.

  • May require travel.

  • May require strenuous work activity due to the nature of the Upstream and Downstream business.

  • Ability to perform physical requirements of job which may require prolonged physical exertion, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in awkward positions and areas.
